This evening I’m going to share some of my favourite blogs with you. The reasons I started blogging in the first place is because I wanted to find other people with the same interests as me. I wanted to find people who could show me how to style my hair, where to find the best retro clothes and who would appreciate that weird vase in the shape of an onion I bought in a charity shop.
I found them. And I found so much more. In no particular order here are my 5 favourite blogs:
This is Karen and she can do just about anything. She can lay a new floor in her kitchen, rear chickens by hand and run a tight dinner party. Simultaneously. She talks a lot about dill chips. Being British, I don’t know what that means. I think it’s crisps that taste like gherkins. Which I might actually like. Seriously. You need to read this blog.
This is Tasha and she is a vintage goddess. She is a demon knitter, does some great hair tutorials and has just revamped her 1950s kitchen. I love her sense of style and can’t imagine her dressing any other way.
This is George and she is bold, brave and frequently in a bra. I loved her blog when I discovered it because of how she seemed genuinely proud of her curves. As a curvaceous girl, it was refreshing to see someone who wasn’t afraid to get out there and give their opinions on fashion when they were larger than a size 10. Not that there’s anything wrong with being a size 10 – George says no to body snark! I heartily agree with that too. Girls are not always very kind to girls and that needs to change. Check out her blog for plus size fashion (she’s launched a plus size range in conjunction with Lady V of London), lingerie and, currently, wedding dresses! Go George!
This is Tat. She is a long standing friend and can tell you many interesting (and definitively untrue) stories about me. She blogs about nail art and does some amazing things with her pinkies. I personally do not have the patience or the dexterity to achieve anything like that. If you’re looking for ideas, it’s a great place to start as she’s a prolific poster! Get over there!
Gemma is so good at this blogging lark she does it for a living! I like her make up reviews and outfits. There’s a hefty bank of information here and the best thing? She does roller derby. She actually does. *impressed*
So, these are my top 5. Obviously, I read way more than that and I’m saving some for a sequel post *wink*
It is with a sense of community I say:
It’s only vintage but I like it!
